Although I live in New York, my family originates from a small town in southern Italy. Over 25 years ago, some of my family (including my father) moved to America and the rest of my family stayed in Italy. My family members who stayed in Italy are farmers. My family owns an onion farm that grows and harvests red onions. These types of onions are rare, they are only found in southern Italy and in some regions of South Africa. Everyday my family members must take care of their plants because this is their main source of income. Once the onions are ready to be harvested, they are sold to local stores, markets, and they are even sold internationally.
